Generally, building permits are not required for our smaller sheds (less than 150 sq. ft.), but you should always check with you local building department first even before you purchase plans. Should you decide to install electricity or plumbing in your new shed you should check on the need for these permits also and you should always notify your insurance company when you increase the value of your property.
