Can
I build a shed from your plans?
Yes
you can. The ease with which you complete your project depends
mostly on your dedication, work experience and to some extent on the
shed plans you select to buy from us. Sheds are not difficult to
build, especially when you buy quality plans with lots of how to
build tips and plans that incorporate factory made and easy to install
components. Have some doubts, just check out the free construction
guide.
So
while it is for you to decide whether to build it yourself, hire a
local handyman or just have friends and relatives help, such
projects can greatly
enhance the beauty and value of your home.
Our
sheds can give you lots of storage space and personal satisfaction.

What
does it cost to build a shed?
Although
this is a very important question, it is hard for anyone to answer.
It
is a hard question for us to answer because we sell plans throughout the world. A world in which there are very different lumber and
commodity costs, and in areas where such pricing changes all the
time.
That's
why it's best to take our comprehensive "materials
list", that comes with your new shed plans, to your local supplier.
They
will give you the current and best pricing for
your project.
You
will however find an approximate price for the cost of all the
materials by just clicking on any of the sheds illustrations.

What
about building permits?
Generally, building permits are
not required for our smaller sheds
(less than 150 sq. ft.), but you should always check with you local
building department first even before you purchase plans. Should you decide to install electricity
or plumbing in your new shed you should check on the need for these
permits also and you should always notify your insurance company
when you increase the value of your property.

How
long does it take to build a nice shed?
It varies
greatly with levels of skill, helpers, site conditions and the plans
that you select. Some of our smaller sheds like
plan # 1311 can be built by two skilled workers in about
14 to 18 hours of work depending on site conditions. Some of our
bigger sheds with attics will, of course, take longer. Our general rule is that two
skilled workers will complete about 4 square feet of shed floor
space for every hour that they work. Regardless of your skills
it’s a fun thing to do.

is included in the plans?
Our
plans come complete showing in great detail the required
ELEVATIONS, CROSS
SECTIONS, FLOOR PLANS, CONCRETE PAD VERSION, RAFTER LAYOUT, ACTUAL
SIZE RAFTER CUTTING TEMPLATES, SPECIFICATIONS and
a very comprehensive MATERIALS LIST.
You
will find a complete Plan Content List by
just clicking on any the sheds illustrations.
Our
plans contain many tips and consist of 13 to 19 sheets, depending on
the size of the shed that you select to buy plans for. For those who
are new to this and want more information we have a free 31 page
Construction Guide. It can be used for all of the shed plans sold by
Just Sheds Inc.
This
gives you almost 50 pages of information and most of it is free.

What
should I consider when selecting a plan?
Sheds
like any architecture consist of three elements STRUCTURE, FUNCTION
and DESIGN.
STRUCTURALLY
many of our shed building plans offer you a choice of having a wooden floor
built on a skid foundation or on concrete piers or building the shed on a concrete pad.
All our plans that end with the letters "SCP"
give
you this choice of floors.
FUNCTIONALLY
it depends on whether you use your new shed for storage, growing
plants, or a really great workshop. We probably have as many different
plans as there are functions for them.
DESIGN
deals with beauty, which is in the eye of the beholder, but it is
also very important to know how long it will last. This is why we
design all our sheds with maintenance free materials. Materials that
are easily adaptable to complement your home. So whether you choose
one of our shed plans that have shutters or one with a huge fan
window our designs focus on long lasting good looks.
